Frequently asked questions

Product, supplier, operations, and commercial questions about Dockvera for manufacturing and industrial receiving.

Product

What is Dockvera?
Dockvera is the inbound delivery operations platform for manufacturing and industrial facilities. It connects vendor scheduling, plant approval, receiving capacity, gate arrival, and material-driven instructions in one workflow — so inbound trucks are coordinated before they reach the fence.
Is Dockvera a YMS, WMS, or ERP?
No. Dockvera is not a yard management system, warehouse management system, or ERP. It sits alongside your plant systems and focuses on inbound appointment coordination, gate arrival, and receiving guidance for outdoor plant yards — not inventory, picking, or financials.
Does Dockvera include scheduling?
Yes. Vendors request available windows through your plant invite link. Plants approve against capacity-aware availability — including optional auto-approve — and confirmed appointments land on the plant calendar and daily schedule. Flexible urgent and service deliveries are supported when a fixed slot is not the right fit.
Is this for warehouses or distribution centers?
No. Dockvera is built for manufacturing and industrial plants with outdoor receiving yards — not high-volume warehouse dock scheduling, WMS, or visitor management.

Supplier

Will our suppliers actually use it?
Suppliers submit appointment requests through your plant’s invite link. No Dockvera account and no carrier-portal training — closer to filling a guided form than learning new software. Confirmed appointments appear on the plant schedule after approval.
What information do suppliers provide when scheduling?
Suppliers submit the purchase order number, material, quantity, and truck details receiving teams need before arrival — along with the requested window. That structure replaces scattered emails and phone tags with one request the plant can approve.
Do suppliers need a Dockvera login?
No. Plant invite links let suppliers request and follow status without creating Dockvera accounts.
How do suppliers know when a request is approved or changed?
Dockvera sends email notifications on submit, approve, changes, cancel, and arrival so suppliers and plant managers stay aligned without chasing inboxes by hand.

Operations

We’re running receiving on email and spreadsheets today — how hard is the switch?
Dockvera is sales-led and scoped per plant: hours, areas, materials, and vendors first. Suppliers keep using an invite link — they don’t learn a new portal login.
What happens at the gate?
Security looks up the expected appointment on a tablet-first gate experience, marks arrival, and sees destination and post-arrival guidance driven by material and receiving area — without calling the office for every truck.
How do PPE and receiving instructions work?
Plant PPE and entrance guidance can be required when the supplier submits. After arrival, security and receiving see area instructions driven by the material route — so coils, beams, and spare parts don’t share one playbook. Materials and receiving locations can carry their own instructions.
Can we run multiple plants with different roles?
Yes. One organization hostname can include multiple plants. Managers, security, and viewers are scoped per plant, with optional company HQ roles for multi-site oversight.
How does Dockvera help with receiving capacity?
Open slots respect plant-local day, material type, and time so suppliers only see windows your yard can take. Managers see capacity on the calendar; confirmed appointments consume fixed-slot capacity while flexible deliveries follow separate rules.

Commercial

How does buying Dockvera work?
Dockvera is sales-led. We walk your team through a demo scoped to how your plants receive, then outline a phased rollout that fits your sites. Contact us for a demo or quote — we do not publish one-size list pricing on the site.
Do you replace our ERP?
No — Dockvera sits alongside your plant systems. We support external IDs for correlation and discuss integrations that fit how your plants receive today.
What about integrations?
Dockvera is designed to work with existing plant processes rather than replace your ERP or WMS. External IDs support correlation today; deeper ERP and plant-system integrations are planned on the product roadmap and scoped per customer during rollout conversations.
What’s on the product roadmap?
We continue to deepen manufacturing receiving workflows — including richer material and location guidance, reporting insights, and plant-system integrations. Roadmap priorities are shaped by real plant rollouts; ask during a demo for the current focus areas. We do not publish fixed ship dates on this page.
